You go together with an instructor searching for lionfish. This invasive species has no natural predators on Curaçao. That’s why, under certain conditions, hunting lionfish with a spear is allowed.
During this dive, you learn how to use a Hawaiian Sling Spear, how to safely and humanely catch lionfish, and how to process them (actual sightings of lionfish are not guaranteed).
For night diving, we enter the water just before sunset. While you dive, it gradually becomes darker. With your dive light, you experience a completely different world than during the day.
The guide points out all the creatures that sleep during daylight hours, such as: crabs, lobsters, octopuses and many more.
